Something I have been meaning to do for far too long is catalogue and give visibility to artists who release their music in 24 bit quality.
Now you wouldn’t think in this day and age it would be necessary to have to do this by hand (anyone remember the days of the original Yahoo! web directory?), but most artists don’t mention its availability in their album descriptions and sites like Bandcamp offer no option to search or highlight HD content.
Hopefully my efforts will be redundant one day, but in the meantime I have gone through my collection and will list everything that meets the following criteria:
- I own it, so let’s just say some genres are more represented than others
- The entire album must be in HD (by which I only mean 24 bit – I’m not concerned with sample rates)
- If for whatever reason there is a standard and HD version of the album available (why do people do that when users can choose the format anyway?), they must be the same price. I refuse to pay extra for HD in 2021 and so should you
So by that criteria you will only find albums listed on Bandcamp simply because every other site I’m aware of with HD content charges extra. Even then I’ve had to exclude a few purchases because they were extra compared to the standard edition on Bandcamp.
Luckily, being on Bandcamp meant I can embed their player so you can listen directly to each entry. There is quite a bit to get through, so I’ll start with my oldest purchases and eventually I will catch up to “real time”. There will be multiple pages, depending on how quickly the browser grinds to a halt with all the embedded players.

PPS: All these files have been analysed using Lossless Audio Checker. If any file is flagged as being Upscaled (low bit rate to high bit rate) or Transcoded (lossy file to lossless), I’ll call it out and give the artist the benefit of the doubt if everything else checks out.
